Bitplane, the world’s leading interactive 3D and 4D image visualization and analysis software company, will be participating in the microscopy workshop taking place at the University of Leicester from Monday 20th to Friday 24th August 2012.

On the 20th of August there will be a workshop in Immunolabelling where the participants will have lectures and hands on session about sample preparation, fixation, choice of antibodies, mounting medium and other relevant topics will be discussed.

During the 21st and 24 the the workshop will cover basic microscopy and fluorescence microscopy before introducing more advanced techniques like FRAP, FLIP and FRET. The participants will be introduced to different types of fluorescence microscopes, like confocal laser scanning microscopy and multi photon scanning microscope as well as image analysis software in lectures and hands-on sessions. We will also have a look at the latest developments in fluorescence microscopy.

At this course Bitplane will be showcasing the latest version of Imaris. Imaris is Bitplane’s modular software that delivers all the necessary functionality for data visualization, analysis, segmentation and interpretation of 3D and 4D microscopy datasets. Combining speed, precision and ease of use Imaris provides a complete set of features for working with three and four-dimensional multi-channel images of any size.

There will be hands on sessions for Image Analysis with Imaris. For more information visit http://www.le.ac.uk/biochem/microscopy/workshop2012.html
